چکیده

Patients with diabetes are at a high risk of developing diabetic foot syndrome, leading to costly foot ulcerations caused mainly by high peak plantar pressures. Continuous homecare monitoring of the diabetic foot, using plantar pressure-sensitive systems integrated to a computerassisted model for diagnoses and orthotic management, are required by physicians to improve early clinical diagnosis and therapy. Pressure measurement devices, such as in-shoe electronic insoles and platforms are expensive for patients, and are only used in research labs. This paper evaluates a follow-up study on plantar pressure distribution, in a group of subjects with and without diabetes, using the Loran EPS/R1 Platform, and the viability of its incorporation in a computer model.

Photobiomodulation With Customized Insoles on Maximum Plantar Pressure in Diabetic Foot Syndrome Using the Biomechanical Model: A case report

A 49-year male patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus with diabetic foot syndrome was evaluated by comprehensive diabetic foot assessment. Photobiomodulation therapy (low-level laser therapy) was prescribed for neuropathic pain and symptoms with scanning and probe method for 10 sessions. Customized insoles were recommended for redistributing the plantar pressures and reducing stress on the diabe...

Comparing the Effect of New Silicone Foot Prosthesis and Conventional Foot Prosthesis on Plantar Pressure in Diabetic Patients With Transmetatarsal Amputation

Objective Diabetic foot ulcers are significant complications of diabetes that can lead to amputation. Partial foot prostheses can be used to redistribute the plantar pressure on the residual limb to alleviate local pressures and prevent re-amputation at more proximal levels. The current study aimed to describe the fabrication of an original silicone foot prosthesis designed for a diabetic patie...

Loading character of diabetic foot in young patients during normal speed walking

This study aims to investigate and compare the influence of plantar loading variables during gait of patients with diabetic in young ages. Subjects were divided into the following two groups: diabetic foot, 56 subjects; control group, 52 subjects. Plantar pressure distribution was measured during barefoot gait using the Novel emed platform. Both midfoot and lateral forefoot regions’ peak pressu...

Design and development of ShrewdShoe, a smart pressure sensitive wearable platform

This study introduces a wearable in-shoe system for real-time monitoring and measurement of the plantar pressure distribution of the foot using eleven sensing elements. The sensing elements utilized in ShrewdShoe have been designed in an innovative way, they are based on a barometric pressure sensor covered with a silicon coating. The presented sensing element has great linearity up to 300...

Check the appropriate length of metatarsal pad On the reduction of Diabetic foot ulcer mechanical parameters while walking

Background: Standard prevention and treatment strategies to decrease peak plantar pressure include a total contact insert with a metatarsal pad, but no clear guidelines exist to determine optimal length of the pad with respect to the metatarsal head. The purpose of this study was to Check the appropriate length of metatarsal pad On the reduction of Diabetic foot ulcer mechanical parameters whil...
